We are absolutely humbled and delighted to be awarded the 2018 Holden NZ Golf Club of the Year. This is an amazing accolade for our club and I am so proud of the many people, both staff and volunteers who work so hard to make our club what it is. The award was judged across a broad range of seven criteria and as the certificate says "A Club Demonstrating Leadership, Excellence and Innovation" so it was a wonderful achievement.
For all of us that work on the course it is very heartening to receive the fantastic comments from members and green fee players alike.
We love showing off our course to green fee players and you are all very welcome. There is a slight restriction in that due to increasing numbers on our Saturday Club Day we have had to close the course to visiting players from 11.30am to 3pm. However affiliated players are very welcome to play with us on Saturdays, just arrive by 11.30am and we will put you in the field; we tee off at 12.00pm for ladies and men.
You are also welcome to join our 18 hole Ladies at 9.30am for a 10am start Tuesdays and Thursdays ,ladies and men 9 holers start 30 minutes later. Men 11.30am for a noon start Wednesdays.
We also have Twilight Golf over the Summer months. Tee off between 4.45pm and 5.45pm and play nine holes. Golfers and non-golfers welcome. We also have a lovely meal available in the clubrooms afterwards!
Come and join us at The Friendliest Club in the Top of the South! Green fee players are always welcome and our venue is very well suited to corporate events and visiting groups of players. Recently we have removed the lower branches of many of the trees and widened some of the fairways which has made the course more "user friendly".
For those who have not played our course before you will find it to be an easy walk which is tree lined so accuracy is rewarded!
Current staff limitations have required us to adjust our bar and catering hours from Friday 12 April until further notice as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday - Closed
Wednesday - Open from 3pm to 5pm
Friday - Open from 11am to 5pm
Saturday - Open from 11am to 6pm
Food will be available when the bar is open. However, on Friday and Saturday there will only be a limited range of food available before play. You are advised to have lunch early on those days or bring your own lunch with you. Hot chips and other food will be available as usual after play on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Appropriate arrangements with extended hours will be made for days on which specific events, such as Open Mixed Vets, are scheduled to take place.
